This site started at the front desk, finding out the hard way what "pet-friendly" actually meant: the surprise fee, the banned bar, the worst room in the building. After being stung once too often, I started collecting the receipts, mine and other people's, and the pattern stopped looking like bad luck. This site is where they are kept.

The argument is simple. Vague labels protect bad operators and punish good ones, and the fix is not a nicer word. The fix is definitions, published policies, and independent proof. Any hotel can be honest about what it offers. The word "pet-friendly" is what lets them not be.

How this site works

Everything here is built on public, primary sources: regulatory texts, government enforcement actions, peer-reviewed research, published surveys, and the industry's own price lists. Where a figure is an estimate, it is marked as one. Where an opinion is stated, it is signed. Nothing on this site is sponsored, there are no affiliate links, and no complaint reproduced here was solicited, commissioned or paid for. This site is published by Guise Bule, a dog owner frustrated with pet-friendly, as a hobby project. If something is wrong, corrections are welcome and will be published.
